KEEP THE FAITH
When times get foggy, when you know you need to take a step out of comfortability for a better future, when you hit bumps in the road that you don’t know how you’re going to overcome, how well are you at keeping the faith?
That is the question to ask - it’s something I have had to ask myself time and time again.
While my faith in Jesus is a big part of my life, keeping the faith doesn’t only mean keeping faith in a higher power. When things get tough, can you keep the faith in yourself? Believing in yourself can oftentimes feel like the most difficult task of them all.
This past weekend, I was with my two year old nephew, Ronin, at the playground and he was scared to jump off a small ledge. “I can’t do it!” He said. “You can do it, Ro! You have to do scary things to know you can overcome them,” my brother said. Once Ro was successful in jumping off the small ledge he excitedly said, “I can do it now Aunty Gabby!”
Keep the faith.
The jumps are scary and we see them every day, but do we always take the leap, or believe that we even can? I know that I don’t. But I know that it’s a muscle that I’m working on growing and getting better at every single day, and it starts within. And the more you prove to yourself that you can overcome, you can accomplish, you can get through it, the more belief you will have in yourself in the future.
Keeping the faith means saying to yourself:
“I have faith I can figure this out.”
“I have faith that I can overcome what feels impossible.”
“I have faith that God will provide for me even when I don’t ask.”
“I have faith that if I don’t know what to do, the answers will be revealed to me.”
Keep the faith in yourself and God, and prove to yourself that you can do or overcome anything - your future self will thank you :)
