IF YOU’RE FEELING LOST

For those who are feeling lost, confused, or unfulfilled, this is a love note from me to you.

For the many times I have found myself in the same boat that you are in right now, this is the list of things I wish I could’ve read. I write all of these things in love, because if we can’t be honest with each other, what do we have?

I hope this helps you.

  • You need to progress

If you’re feeling lost, you need to start progressing. We as humans are the most fulfilled when we are progressing, even in small ways, in any area of life. The more that we move forward on a goal or achievement, the happier we will feel.

It is so easy to feel lost when you don’t feel like you’re making progress in the things that matter to you. So, start to make movement - don’t keep spending your spare time on social media or watching Netflix, that won’t help you feel any better. We were designed to deal with challenges, so if you’re going to deal with a challenge, do it in a way that actually moves you closer to your goals.

Challenge yourself, and when you start to see progression, I promise you will feel so much better.

  • You need to do things that fulfill you

If you completely cut out everything that fulfills you, you will feel lost and empty. This will look different for everyone. For me, I know that if I don’t spend time with my family, get out of town for a few days every few months, or spend time out at dinner or at a concert with my best friend, I will feel unfulfilled.

I know that about myself, so I know that I need to make the time to slot those things in. Remember what fulfills you and find more opportunities to do that thing. I always feel better when I have something to look forward to, and I know you will, too.

  • You need to use this time to develop your faith

I would be remiss to leave this out because my faith in God is a very important part of my life.

Wherever you are in your faith journey, find ways to develop and cultivate that part of you.

In my darkest and most ‘lost’ seasons, there were moments when I frankly didn’t want to get out of bed. The only thing that would get me out of bed in the mornings was praying to God to give me signs each day that everything was going to be OK. Every time I prayed that prayer, I gradually felt a little better each day. I also started to see little miracles in my day.

The lost seasons are opportunities to develop your faith, whatever that looks like to you. Even if it just means developing faith in you and reminding yourself that you can do whatever you set your mind to, even in your darkest seasons or moments.

  • You need to start only doing things that align with what you want

If you are feeling lost, you may be doing things that don’t align with the person you were created to be, and this needs to change.

You need to decide who you are, you need to remind yourself of your character, and you need to change what needs to be changed. No more waiting, no more putting off, do it today. If you need to cut something out, cut it out today. If you need to change something, change it today.

It will never get easier if you keep putting it off, so do it today. Begin doing the things that only the future, dream version of you would do and watch yourself start to feel so much better.

I hope you know that if you are feeling lost, I am here for you. If you start to do these things above, you will feel so much better. I promise.

I’m proud of you!

x, LG Curry
