WHEN YOU FORGET WHO YOU ARE
On the good days, and especially on the hard ones, the most important job you have is simple:
Remind yourself of who you are.
Whether you’re riding momentum or running into setback after setback, your inner voice will be the loudest influence on whether you decide to give up or push through and keep moving forward.
How are you speaking to yourself?
Do you speak to yourself like someone would who believes in you? Or like someone who wants the best for you?
Words have power, especially the words that go unspoken.
What you repeat becomes what you believe, and what you believe is what shapes everything. We have to actively train our brains to speak to ourselves in a way that is honest but also reminds us of who we were created to be, even if we don’t see it in the mirror.
When you are working towards a vision that you have for yourself, most people won’t understand until the vision is a reality. This means you have to see it first: You have to speak it before it exists, you have to walk like it’s true before there’s proof. You have to believe in yourself before anyone else does, and how can you be your own biggest advocate if you don’t talk to yourself like the person you were created to be?
That’s how you build confidence. Not by waiting to feel ready, but by repeating the truth until you believe it and in turn doing actions that build the proof of who you’re becoming.
You won’t always feel like you’re moving forward and you won’t always see evidence that you’re becoming who you’re working so hard to be. And that’s exactly when it becomes your responsibility to speak truth over your own life.
So here’s your reminder today:
Talk to yourself like someone you believe in and someone you know will achieve whatever they put their heart to.
Don’t wait to feel ready.
Remind yourself who you are and then move like it.
