Everything that we do is planting a seed and everything we have is from a seed planted.
Thoughts = Seeds
Words = Seeds
Actions = Seeds
In a garden, in order for a seed to grow, it needs light, water, healthy soil, the right temperature environment, and time. The same goes with our life. Everyday (consciously or unconsciously), we are giving light, water, temperature, and tending to the soil of the thoughts that we think, the words that we speak, and the actions we do that ultimately become who we are and what we have.
Everything you have in your life is a result of a seed that was planted years ago, months ago, weeks ago, or even days ago. When you are able to look around at the aspects of your life that you both love and dislike and realize that many of these things are a result of a seed planted, it is an opportunity to take the reins and, if needed, pull the weeds. You have to make space for new, better things to grow.
Weeds can look like:
The wrong intakes: Replace negativity for positivity, mute or unfollow, and swap unhelpful content for books, podcasts, and newsletters that push you forward.
The wrong people: Limit time with those who don’t push you forward and get around those you want to be like. By doing this, you will eventually become someone that you wish you had before you evolved.
The wrong time spent: Audit how you’re spending your hours and days and then find ways to replace unhelpful habits with things that push you forward.
Weeds are quick to pull but seeds can be slow to grow. Growth takes time, but once the plant sprouts out of the ground, it’s quick to expand. Once expanded, it will require new tactics and new strategies to thrive.
Tend to your seed, provide healthy soil and temperature, and watch the momentum start. Each day you nurture your efforts is a step closer to your goals and a better life. :)
