THE REALITY OF SACRIFICE

This morning, think of three biiiiiig things you want to accomplish in the next year. Now, ask yourself, what are you willing to give up to get what you want?

The reality of life is that everything we desire is on the other side of sacrifice. Sacrifice looks like:

  • Eliminating the things we know don’t serve us now or won’t serve us in the future.

  • Taking action even when we don’t want to do it or don’t feel like doing it.

  • Giving up today’s pleasure for tomorrow’s gain.

While sacrifice may never be pain-free, the key to staying consistent is giving yourself a clear vision of the thing that you’re sacrificing for. Your sacrifice may be today’s dessert for tomorrow’s body, today’s financial investment in tomorrow’s growth, today’s loneliness for tomorrow’s relationship, today’s 15-hour workday for tomorrow’s flexibility - all of our sacrifices will look different because we are all in different stages of life. No matter what, consistently reminding yourself of where you’re headed makes the the short-term uncomfortability worth it in the end.

Sacrifice isn't about losing something, it's about gaining something far more valuable. Every small sacrifice you make moves you closer to becoming the person you want to be and the life you want to have.

The ‘lucky’ ones in life all have had to work harder than everyone else and sacrifice more than the ones around them to get what they want. I don’t know about you, but I want to be one of the ‘lucky’ ones. If you want to be a ‘lucky’ one too, every time you feel the pain of today’s sacrifice, practice flexing your abundance mindset by saying to yourself, “This sacrifice is a gift, not a loss.”

Sacrifice. Vision. Abundance.

We’re doing it together.
