TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
On November 19th, I took my notebook and wrote down two pages in my journal. One page was a list of everything that I want in this life, no limits. The next page was a list of everything that I have to become in order to achieve or get those things.
I made a commitment to read over those two pages a few times a week, and as I was reading over those pages yesterday, a statement came to my mind:
“It starts with me.”
Everything that we desire, everything we want to change or be different, everything we want to achieve, starts with ourselves. I heard someone say recently that a story is what happened to us or what choices we made, but the narrative is what story we give that story, what beliefs we take from what we’ve done or experienced.
As I look over the pages of everything that I want and everything I have to become, I’ve had to ask myself these questions:
What part have I played in where I am at in my life that I want to change?
What narrative am I giving my story or my experiences?
Where can I take responsibility for my actions?
How can I use this to propel me forward and help other people?
No matter where you are or what you’ve done, you are never too far from changing or from getting what you want. It starts with you.
I’m so proud of you and I believe in you!
