EXPANDING YOUR CAPACITY
The year isn’t over yet, and neither is your ability to stretch, expand, and increase your capacity before it ends.
We often think new levels automatically come with new seasons, but the reality is that new levels come when you decide to expand.
The part of you that will reach what it is you want to accomplish won’t come with waiting until you feel ready, it will come with expanding your capacity and building endurance now. And that comes when you choose today to start doing small things every day that expand your capacity.
Here are a few things you can do before January to get ahead:
1. Do One Harder Thing Per Day
This looks like pushing your limits in small, intentional ways every day for the rest of the year. Examples include: Working out a little longer, waking up 15 minutes earlier, or reading one chapter of a book. Stretching your comfort zone daily increases what you're capable of holding over the long term. The Habit Tracker is the most helpful for this and can help keep you on track each day!
2. Remove a Distraction
Removing what doesn’t help you move forward can serve you in more ways than you can imagine. Muting certain people’s stories on Instagram or putting your phone on Do Not Disturb during certain hours can help open up the space in your mind to stop letting everything in, which in turn allows space for other good things to come in.
3. Protect Your Time
Audit your time and your circle. This may be one of the most significant changes you will need to make. If you leave certain groups or situations feeling worse or thinking more negatively and you have the ability to change it, either eliminate it all together or drastically change how much time you give towards that thing.
Expansion doesn't always feel good, but it always brings growth.
So before you say this year is over, ask yourself: What part of my capacity can I stretch just a little more?
Even if you follow at least one of these three things, your life will change.
