THE HABIT TRACKER: MY FAVORITE TOOL TO KEEP ON TRACK

When you’re trying to grow, whether in your mindset, health, career, or relationships, the biggest challenge isn’t knowing what to do. It’s doing it consistently.

That’s where my absolute favorite tool, The Habit Tracker, comes in.

It’s not fancy and it’s not complicated, but it works.

Here’s why:

1. It Makes Your Priorities Visible

A habit tracker forces you to choose what really matters. You can’t track everything, so you get honest about the few things that will move the needle and you commit to showing up for them daily.

2. It Creates Built-In Accountability

No more wondering if you’re “doing enough.” The tracker gives you a visual receipt of your effort. Each blank box is feedback on what you need to do more consistently and each checkmark is momentum towards what you want to accomplish.

3. It Keeps You Out of All-or-Nothing Thinking

You don’t need to be perfect to make progress. The Habit Tracker is proof that when you focus on winning your day and checking your boxes, you build consistency that compounds.

4. It Reinforces Who You’re Becoming

Every time you check off a habit, you’re casting a vote for the identity you’re stepping into. You’re no longer just trying to be disciplined, you are disciplined.

How I Use It Every Month

  • I print a new tracker at the start of each month (you can download one [here if you’re linking to a PDF]).

  • I write 6–10 habits max along the left column and write ideas based off on what my yearly or quarterly goals are. So, if my goal is to meet a health goal or a financial goal, my habits for my tracker will break it down into bite-sized pieces to get me closer to that goal.

Some examples include:

  • Wake up at 5AM

  • Walk 10K steps

  • 45-minute workout

  • Eat only single-ingredient foods

  • Read 10 pages

  • Sales training

  • Text someone to tell them I love them

  • I place it somewhere visible - like a desk, journal, or tapeing it on the fridge (my personal favorite).

  • Each night, I take 1 minute to check off what I did that day.

  • At the end of the month, I review patterns: Where did I follow through? What fell off? What needs to shift for next month?

Change doesn’t come from doing one big thing once. It comes from doing the small things daily, and that’s exactly what this tool helps you track.

Start simple. Stay consistent. And don’t underestimate what can happen when you keep showing up.
