USING PAIN AS A PROPELLER
Just a few days ago, I was up in the middle of the night unable to sleep, thinking about where I was around this time one year ago. Although that season of my life brought valuable lessons, there are some parts that I never want to experience again.
The same day that I couldn’t sleep, I met someone for coffee and they were telling me their story, specifically some of the hardest things they’ve had to overcome in their life. I asked them the biggest lesson they took from that season in life, and they responded:
“I learned that no matter what happens, I can always rebuild.”
That span of 12 hours was a reminder for me that everyday we have the opportunity to use our pain, our past mistakes, our past hardships, for good. The second we wake up in the morning, we have an opportunity to take the things we don’t like for purpose.
No one but you can understand your own experiences, so when you can use your pain as a propeller, nothing can stop you. Take every bad thing someone has said or done to you or every mistake you’ve made as a tool and as a force to create the best life you could’ve ever imagined.
And, if not the most important thing, think about how many people you can help along the way when you use your pain to rebuild.
