OPEN HAND MENTALITY
In this week’s RE/SET, I am sharing something that I have been consistently thinking about and working on over the past month that I think will help you, too: Having an open hand mentality.
What does this phrase really mean?
While different people may have different interpretations or experiences, I believe that having an open hand mentality means to actively choose to release certain things in our life.
Embracing this mentality does not mean you don’t work hard, practice patience and persistence with the things you want, and control what you can control, because we are all fighting against resistance. It means working for the things you want and desire without a clenched fist and scarcity mindset. It also means allowing God to bring the right things at the right time and take away the things that are not for us.
As a result of working to practice this mindset, now before I walk into certain rooms, conversations, or situations that I feel scarce about, I repeat to myself:
“Open hand. Open hand. Open hand.”
Once you start living this, you will feel so much more free simply because the energy you once spent clenching and holding is now being used more positively and productively in alignment with your purpose.
Practice listening to your gut - you will know when it’s time to say, “Ok, I am releasing this and am choosing to have an open hand.”
This week, exercise the muscle of walking into rooms, situations, and conversations with an open hand mentality and see how it changes your thinking, mindset, and approach.
